I was inspired to make this image based on a picture from one of my mentors. I was making Milkyway images from all the New England states and really looking for the darkest areas, but losing site of what really matters an interesting fore ground. I still had a blast with what was really my first actual photography project.

The challenge here was keeping the canoe still long enough to take a long exposure shot. I had tied a rope to the canoe so I wouldn’t lose it but brought it back in and added an anchor to keep it still.
