From inside a coastal cave on Australia’s east coast, I framed the ocean through a jagged rock arch just as a group of teenagers arrived. A single moment—one of them leaping into the sea—turned the scene into a story of youth, courage, and risk.

Captured on a Nikon Z7ii with a 17–28mm f/2.8 at 28mm, f/5.6, ISO 1250, 1/2000s, +0.3EV. The fast shutter froze the jump mid-air, while exposure compensation balanced the dark cave interior against the bright sky.

If it were me, I'd crop this down to a 4x5 ratio, lose some of the empty space at the top and bottom of the frame. Negative space is great, but I think the open sky gives you enough. I might also adjust the colors for a slightly more nostalgic vibe, but that's just me. Great capture!

I want to see something in the negative space, but I a lacking imagination or you need to squeeze it into a recognizable shape in post, hahaha! Nice vantage point and storytelling.
