The King

This is Ralph, the magnificent male lion at the Santa Barbara Zoo. Most days he just lays around basking in the sunlight. However, on this day, I caught him before it was nap time. He provided this calm expression for me to capture as if he had ordered a headshot session.
Shot with the Nikon 200-500mm f/5.6 lens attached to the Nikon 1.7x teleconverter. Cropped and turned to black and white to help hide the flaws in my image, but I hope you still find it enjoyable.
