We see these clouds often out here on the Eastern New Mexico Plains. This is a composite of two photographs from nearly the same location, just a few miles apart. I had made the image of the wheat field and the ranch house in the background several years ago after a very stormy afternoon, and the storm cloud just a few days ago. The cloud image is a reminder that we need to have our "real" cameras with us at all times. I had gone into town to get some things and when I came out this cloud was building in the east, probably actually in West Texas. I hadn't planed on doing any camera work that day so my camera was about 10 miles distant, and since these clouds never stay in one location very long I grabbed my i-Phone and hustled to a place where I knew I could get an open sky. I then combined the two using Photoshop and did the black and white conversion, again using photoshop only. I used an i-Phone 14s and a Canon 6D with a 17-40L lens.
