I was up very early the last morning of my residency at Bighorn National Forest. It had rained very hard in the night and everything was covered in morning dew. The temperature was barely above freezing and it was graveyard still. I had seen this meadow many times and the conditions were never right. With the sky clearing in the east, though it was still in the predawn silence. The most beautiful part of the day in my personal opinion. I used a Toyo 45A camera with a 90mm Sinaron lens fitted with a #15 Orange filter. The film used was Kodak T-Max 100 rated at ASA 50. I used an orange filter to increase sky contrast. Some would have used a #25 Red filter, however that filter would ruin the low midtone contrast in the pine trees near the horizon line.
