I was walking up a beach in Portugal one December when I came to this scene. It grabbed my attention because of the forms of the rocks against the patterns of the North Atlantic as it rush in and then moved back out over, and around the rock structures. One of the forms, the one nearest the camera on the left side, looked almost like an alligator or crocodile in the receding light. Then, just as I had figured out my composition, set my tripod, attached the camera and lens, and done all the pre-image setups I have to do, some doofus walked out on the top of the rocks near the center with an i-Pad to make a picture. Then the knucklehead just kind of camped out there before he climbed down and ambled off in his self absorbed world. Frustrating, as those things are, in the moment.
I used a Toyo 45A camera, 65mm Sinaron lens with a #21 Dark Orange filter. The image was exposed on Kodak T-Max 100 film.
