I was returning home from visiting my mother in Southern California and had stopped to eat in Cedar City, Utah. I thought I would drive through Zion and then Kanab and spend the night in Page, Az, driving home the next day. No rooms in Page, so I thought I would drive to Kanab, Az and get a room, then drive home. No rooms in Kanab. So I thought I would drive on to Shiprock, NM. No hotels or motels in Shiprock! I finally drove into Farmington, NM and found a very overpriced room which I gladly rented. As it happened I was driving from about 6:00 AM until about 3:00 AM. 21 hours!

I used a Toyo 45A camera with a 65mm Sinaron lens with a #15 yellow filter with Kodak T-Max 100 film.

Nathan, Page to Kanab or.did.you mean Kayenta, not that your story has a lot.to do with the posted image other than your trip.

Yeah, I drove through Kanab from Zion thinking I would spend the night in Page, which is the next stop on hiway 89. Then on to Kayenta - no rooms, Shiprock, no lodging period and then to Farmington where I found one room. Shoulda made reservations but when I travel alone I usually just stop when I feel like it. My departure, early that morning was from Lone Pine, I think. So it was a long fricking drive!
