Bernadette III

I've long enjoyed contemporary dance and have wanted to do a shoot along those lines for ages. I finally found a time to work with dancer Bernadette Lemon. For this first shoot we kept everything very simple - a single light, very lightly processed. All about the joy of dance, in other words.

Devising a movement which looked as though Bernadette was dancing with her hair rather than just doing a standard hair flick took a little while; I think we succeeded.

Lighting was a Lencarta Superfast IGBT unit with a very short flash duration, fired from camera left through a 120cm Octa with just the front diffuser fitted.

Processing was limited to colour correction and tidying up the backdrop.
