Shu Uemura - The Art of Hair 2015 Entry

Beauty is probably amongst the things I love shooting the most. First because it is a complete process, starting with pre production, then going into shooting and transforming the RAW file into a final image using post-production techniques.

But that's not it. I love creating things that romantic and full of emotions. Hence my passion for weddings as well I guess. Some people even told me they thought I were a female photographer looking at my images…

Anyways… this image was created for a swiss hair salon, Le Temps d'une Coupe. One of their hairstylist wanted to enter the annual Shu Uemura hair competition and asked me to photograph her creation. When she showed me what she had in mind I couldn't say no. It seemed like a true challenge to photograph and retouch. The main idea was to create hair rings that would cover the face. But… because there had to be a "but"… the rings needed to be perfect. No need to say it required quite some time in Photoshop to make them look this way ;)
