In 2015 I was traveling through Nepal with my friends. It was just after the earthquake who killed a lot of people. We walked around in Kathmandu, to me one of the best cities in the world for street-photography. I had my 16-35/4.0 on my camera to capture the fantastic scenery and people in this country. Then we saw a fence with a nice old broken mosque behind it. In the grass was sitting an old man dressed in orange. We saw a lot of people in orange, they where monks. I didn't hesitate to walk trough the fence. I wanted to capture this beautiful man in his own habitat. I asked him if I could take a photo of him. That was not a problem and he directly posed like this. I zoomed in to 35m dropped the aperture to 5.6 and took this photo. I already knew that this photo would be one of my favorite travel photo's already. And we had still 3,5 weeks to go of our 4 week great journey. The man invited us for a free guided tour through his living area where we saw many more orange clothed monks. But he he was the most photogenic.
