I used to drive out to see my Mother on Mother's Day each year. On the way back to my home I would often camp for the night in the Alabama Hills area of California and then spend a day or so exploring the area. BTW, there is, or used to be, an excellent pizza restaurant in Lone Pine. It seemed to me that there we always very interesting cloud structure over his hills, very large granite boulders actually, that are called hills. I drove up the back side of Mount Whitney one time to the end of the road and the trailhead to the summit, and dropped a $100.00 filter in the river that runs down from off it... so that was a loss to me. Driving back down the cloud structure was so strong that I had to stop and make a photograph. I used a Toyo 45A camera, a Sinaron 150mm lens with a #21 Light Red filter and Kodak T-Max 100 film.
