Sunlit Ridge, Southern Utah

I used to drive out to see my mom in the Barstow, California area, and on the way back home I would drive through the red rock canyon country of southern Utah, which was always an amazingly beautiful experience and a time for me to hike into the back country and drive some of the very rough roads of the great American Outback. I was out there just before sundown and looked around at where I had just been to see the sun illuminating this rock face while the foreground fell into dark shadow. My very favorite lighting condition. I used a Canon 60d camera with the 18-135 Canon lens designed for that format. All black and white conversion was done using Photoshop only.
