A striking building

The Inntel Hotel in Zaandam is a hotel in Zaandam that opened in 2010. It is a striking building because its exterior consists entirely of an assemblage of nearly seventy separate Zaan-style houses, rendered in four shades of "Zaan green." The building was designed by Wilfried van Winden. With the exception of one, all the houses on the façade are green. A single blue house represents Monet's house; he painted *La Maison Bleue* in 1871, a work featuring a blue Zaan house.
