Gura Gear's Triumphant Return: New Kiboko Backpacks Launched

My favorite bags are back: Gura Gear has introduced, or I should say reintroduced their Gura Gear Kiboko bags. Now on version 2.0, they look to bring back everything that made the originals so highly regarded, and they are available for preorder now.

BTS Of Victoria's Secret Incredible Bra

Today we have not one but THREE behind the scenes videos for the latest Victoria's Secret television ad Incredible. The first one shows the scope of the production from the perspective of the models. You can also see how well these new bras fit and why they are so incredible. The second one was edited by FS reader and film maker Adam Boozer who shot a short ad for Verizon showcasing production designer Jeffrey Beecroft. Adam's video is about how Jeffrey uses his cell phone to show art directors different sets, ideas, and locations around the world. Finally, the third is from Ed Razek who is the chief creative officer at Victoria's Secret. There is a little bit to take from all of these and you can watch the final commercial on TV or in the full post. <

Short Videos Go a Long Way

We are seeing it more and more these days. Short films being produced by amateurs and pros alike, sometimes with the most minimalist of equipment, that are making it big. Whether it be Drake Doremus's "Little Crazy" (which was shot on the Canon 7D and won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival this year and was later bought by Paramount for 4 million bucks) or this latest short done by Portal fan/filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg, there can be no doubt that all you need to "make it" is some creativity, dedication, know how and sweat. Portal: No Escape "A woman wakes up in a room with no memory of who she is or how she got there... This is a short set in the world of the Portal video games created by Valve Software." With more than 2.3 million views, "Portal: No Escape" has raised the question as to whether or not it should be turned into a feature length film and has been getting a resounding, "Hell yes!" from viewers. See the "Little Crazy" trailer and add to the discussion inside the post.
The Case Logic Luminosity Medium DSLR Backpack Has a Large Profile, but Compact Interior

Case Logic has been making bags, tablet sleeves and accessory holders for quite some time, but this was my first time reviewing, and using, a dedicated camera bag from the company. The Luminosity DSLR Split Backpack is a hearty, sturdy bag with a few neat compartments and a unique design that is aimed toward either the professional photographer or pro-sumer who needs to protect their gear while on the go. When considering this bag, know that protection was at the forefront.

This Is One Of The Best Nikon Deals I Have Ever Seen

We usually try to keep the good camera deals that we find only on Twitter, but I think everyone deserves to hear about this one. Amazon is currently giving $100-$400 off when you buy any Nikon SLR and a lens. You can see all of these deals here. This is a pretty good deal in itself, especially if you were about to buy the new D7000 anyway but it gets better. Epson is currently giving you a $450 rebate when you buy their $385 R1900 Photo Printer and a Nikon SLR which means they are actually paying YOU $65 to buy their printer. You can check out the rebate form here. The deal above is just a random one that I put together. If you are only interested in a new lens then I would suggest buying the Nikon D3100 (Nikon's cheapest camera), getting the discount on the lens, getting the rebate on the printer, and then selling the camera and printer when they come. It's a bit of work but you could potentially save about $600-800 on a new lens this way. I have done my best to read all of the fine print and this all seems to be legitimate. Please don't count on me though, do your own research and hopefully we can all save some money.

Shooting for the 'Gram: What Wins, Usage or Composition?

I’ve been in the game for a little while, and along the way, there have been a few "new" things. New flashes, diffusers, scrims, softboxes, continuous light panels, LED wands, animated photos, cinemagraphs, mirrorless cameras, the list goes on and on, not to mention Photoshop and Lightroom, which update more often than I wash my sheets. But the one "new" I was not expecting to face was a new photography usage that has made me have to think anew about composition: Instagram.

Ever Want To Throw Your Camera? Here's Your Chance

If you've ever dropped your camera, and I have, you'll know that sickening sound of plastic and metal hitting concrete and the immediate surge of fear that follows when you realize that many thousands of dollars of delicate equipment could now be mangled beyond repair. In my case it was a Nikon D3 with a Nikon 17-35mm f/2.8 attached falling from about 3 feet on to concrete. Ouch. But what if there was a camera that was DESIGNED to be dropped and even thrown?

Will HD Referee Cams Revolutionize Sports?

Recently, a Rugby league has been toying with the idea of attaching HD cameras, much like a GoPro in size, to the heads of referees to live stream during sporting events. By doing this, it allows the viewers to get a point of view feed right in the heart of all the action. With advancing video technology, will this become the sport standard in the next few years?

Go behind the scenes with beauty photographer Scott Wright as he creates a print ad for McCann.
