I originally had him backlit for one of my favorite shots, but I wanted something different. I wanted to use the sun as a bit of harsh fill that hopefully brought some contrast to his weathered skin and epic mustache. I then placed a large octabank to "short light" him. Processed in Capture One and Silver Effects for the BW conversion.
