The behind-the-scenes series of our cityscape tutorial with Elia Locardi continues with episode 11. In this episode we fly on one of the longest flights in the world, from N.Y.C. to Singapore. We enjoy seeing the sights of this amazing city and we also try eating some chicken feet. Spoiler: they were awful.
When we first arrived in Singapore our luggage was lost. We were then dropped off at the wrong hotel. Obviously we weren't in the best mood on the first day but things quickly picked up.
Elia gave us a basic tour of the city and we started trying incredible local food immediately. On the second day we began filming lessons around the Marina Bay. Elia ended up taking two photographs of this area which focus on different areas of the skyline.
At this point in our journey I was really enjoying Singapore but things were about to get even better. Apparently Elia knows a ton of photographers in Singapore and in next week's episode we get to hang out with many of these locals. Our shoot locations, experiences, and food gets even better.

Very nice :) singapore is one of my absolute favorite places, so many great shooting opportunities over there....and the food is just divine.
Did you guys run into Kai and Lok?
Because Hong Kong and Singapore are so close. It's only a 3 hour flight between both cities :)
We go to Hong Kong next. We tried to meet up. They stopped responding to us though.
Y'all could do a cheap camera challenge.
Isn't Kai in the UK these days? I was bumbling about Hong Kong a few weeks ago thinking how fun it would be to bump into some DR people.
Chicken feet aren't for everyone. Most people not used to dim sum stick to Har Gow & Siu Mai (which I think I see the Siu Mai in the back). Haven't been to Singapore yet, but looking forward to getting there eventually.
Chicken Feet are not really a Singapore Staple. It is a yum cha staple (like Tripe)
For Singapore the food you should have tried (and great for the western palette) is Hainanese Chicken Rice
You could start a civil war by asking the simple question "So who does the best Chicken Rice in Singapore?"
Oh yes we had tons of Chicken Rice. I loved how Singapore had all these massive food courts with tons of options. We ate so many interesting dishes there. Oh and I also loved all the fresh fruit smoothie places too
My wife and I love watching these!!
Come to Sydney... I'll treat you to some very nice Chicken Feet Lee :P
what? no durians?... oh wait, thts't not singapore food
3.18 mark... tht'st how fight attended work in jetblue? arms crossed, leaning against the wall? Doesn't look pretty happy on the job or rather welcomed on the flight
You know, we looked everywhere for Durian since the subways said you couldn't carry it on board and we heard so many horror stories about it. We tried a fruit that looked just like it and we actually liked the taste of it and it didn't smell. It kind of became a debate on the trip if we were actually eating Durian or Jack Fruit....or if the Durian we were eating was not yet rotten or not fully ripe yet. I still don't know what we ate but it wasn't bad.
You can totally get all of that in NY and cali
I just got some questions about gear.
What are you guys filming with for the BTS and what Fuji does Elia use?
Our BTS footage was shot on iPhone 6s. Elia has an XT1
