Mineral photography can be very similar to product photography. A good set of photographs can make the collection's website for a business or museum stand out over others. Often you're dealing with reflective surfaces and therefore can be difficult. I used a flag to shape the highlight across the galena cube. I have a modest setup with most specimens being photographed on glass over a black background. "Blue" light underneath is from a small LED flashlight. Other lighting is from two diffused continuous lights (one desk lamp and a halogen light).Circular polarizer to control reflection on glass.
