Cascades, Left Fork of North Creek

This is a tough place to get to. The trail drops off a ledge and goes almost straight down for 650 feet. 650 feet of switchbacks, then 3 1/2 miles of bushwacking up stream, then 3 1/2 miles out and a 650 foot climb out to the rim. The crazy part is that the 3 1/2 mile hike is almost all upstream and when you arrive at this location it's almost the the same elevation as the trailhead. Like so many other places, access to this location is by permit only, largely due to abuse by idiots and litter left behind by fools. All in all, a very beautiful and formerly a very solitary place. I used Toyo 45A camera, a 150mm Sinaron-S lens with a UV-15 filter on the front. The image was recorded on Kodak Ektachrome E-100 film.
