Bald Eagle over Eagle River, Alaska

We were hiking in the Tongass National Forest in Alaska. Eagles were literally everywhere we looked, but most were too far in the distance to get a good clear photograph of one. Then we met this guy. Bold as brass and almost directly above our trail. Just a couple of minutes earlier a sow black bear walked directly under me as I crossed a small footbridge on the trail. Wow, what good fortune! Made my day. Canon 6D camera. Canon 400 f-4DO lens with a 1.4 converter.
