MANY years ago I learned of a very exotic location in Northern Arizona called Antelope Canyon. At that time it had yet to become a destination. To make this image... not possible now, I aimed my camera straight up, and using a 90mm Fujinon lens, focused it. I had to have the camera almost at ground level, so I laid my focusing cloth on the ground and looking onto the ground glass focused as best I could. The exposure was 90 minutes at f-45 using Kodak Tri-X film. When the exposure was over I slid the dark slide in, and disassembled the camera, putting it back into my backpack and then removed and folded up my tripod. When I picked up the dark cloth off the canyon floor there was little Prairie Rattler under it. Apparently the serpent had slithered under the dark cloth while I was away from the camera because it was warmer than the ground around me! After which I needed to change pants....! LOL. I used a Crown Graphic Camera. You can see more of my work at nathanmccreery.com BTW, the area is so heavily traveled now that I will probably not go back. At that time I could get a 5 day permit for $5.00 and I could be in the canyon all day for five consecutive days and never see another humanoid. Times have changed.
