A few years ago I was driving to Montana west out of Laramie, Wyoming and I passed a directional sign to a ranch with a herd of legitimately wild mustangs. Who could resist? I made contact with the ranch owner and arranged to come to their ranch the following September. These are mustangs that are rounded up by the BLM because their range is over grazed and there is no more food for them, and it is illegal to feed wild horses. Ranchers like this one take them in to give them a safe area to range in the spring through fall, they then move them down to safe pastures for the rugged winters. Not allowed to feed them, or give veterinary care. They live as wild animals. What was strange to me about the whole thing is that this guy followed me around like a puppy dog. They are as curious about us as we are about them. I used a Canon 6D camera with a Canon 70-200L lens. All image editing was done using Photoshop.
