I had few days to work in Northern Montana before going down to Condon to teach a workshop in film photography for the Photographers Formulary. I came to this scene while hiking along a massive river on the southern border of Glacier National Park. It was very challenging to get this image, but I finally got a composition that I was pleased with. Toyo 45A camera, 300mm Rodenstock lens, Kodak T-Max 100 film. Nope, 4x5 Toyo with a 300mm Rodenstock Lens.
Cool I should have read the desperation looks like the same leaves from Alaska which is very possible.
They are the same plant. The ones in Montana were just a LOT bigger.
BTW, along the Middle Fork of the Flathead River.
