I think her hands are covering too much of the drink for a product shot. I don't shoot products but that was my first thought
I think its much more subtle than that. Mulled wine is warming and has a hint of spice, so the warming comfort scene really works in that respect. However the product I believe is located on the shelf and may not be illuminated enough or centre frame enough
You might be right. I definitely agree that if this pose is used then the product in the background should probably be a little more noticeable

What they wanted was more of a moodsetter, lifestyle kind of photo for Instagram than a straight on product photography
That makes a lot of sense, in that case this becomes a stronger to me
