This shot was taken a mid summer morning a couple years back. Saw this tiny lady hovering around this floral motif under a bit of shade with a single leaf around the stem. I visualized a simple artistic presentation especially since the morning light was illuminating the grass and foliage in the back. The rest was to wait for the ladybug to appear on top of the flower. After about 30 mins or so of wait, I fortunately was able to take a series of handheld shots. Given the shaded subject and bright background, I had to use a flash (nikon sb-700, ttl) mounted with a diffuser to illuminate the subject. Taken with a tokina 100mm on a nikon D500 at f/6.3, 1/250s, iso 100. Processed in Lightroom to adjust contrast and tones for a dramatic effect.

Love the tones and framing of this.

And the bokeh on that lens is beautiful
