"Jude the Obscure" ~ from David Austin Rose.

Alas, this rose had been discontinued by the growers and is no longer available.

For this photo I achieve a shallow depth of field by placing the rose in a sink of water and adding a touch of cream for the shallow depth of field.

It was a bit of a challenge as the rose wanted to float. I over came this by using a bag clip on the stem and weighed the clip down with a wrench. Make due with what you have.

I used a Godex wand light set to 5500K.

I shot close to the rose to keep the depth of field shallow, but not too shallow as to lose sight of what the Subject is and a square crop.
