Hi guys!
I’m excited to share this image that I think really highlights some fun bokeh. I live in Newport Beach, California, and this location is such an iconic one for the area. Part of our city sits on a long peninsula with several small islands in between it and the mainland. We have a local, family-run ferry that transports cars and people on about a quarter-mile route, linking the end of the peninsula to Pacific Coast Highway. There are three small ferries that can take up to three cars per trip — definitely a fun experience if you’re ever visiting!
This photo gives a unique perspective of that journey, capturing both ends of the trip. Across the water, you can see the “Fun Zone” area, complete with a Ferris wheel and arcade. The image was taken in the morning, and you can see the warm sunlight illuminating the background, while the buildings to my left cast a shadow that kept the subject crisp and evenly lit.
A quick bit about the photo details — this image was shot on my Canon R with the 70–200mm f/2.8 telephoto. It was taken at 200mm, f/2.8, which really creates that nice separation between the foreground and background.
