I took this photo on a very cold morning, last winter. I was out birding in a local nature reserve in Scotland's east coast. Could't sit any longer in the hide as my fingers started to fall off or at least it felt like they would had I not started moving. The sun was up already so I decided to walk into the woodland and that is when I came across this Europian Robin. It was still pretty dark in the forest but the morning sun already started creeping in between the trees and that combined with the relatively tame nature of these birds letting me come close enough created these nice bokeh circles in the background.
