This is probably my best and favourite shot of a Black-winged stilt. I got out to my usual spot for shorebirds / waterfowl 2 hours before sunset, to set up a ground blind (I use the Tragopan Hokki V3) to make sure that I give the birds enough time to get used to it. I took this image right before sunset, when the light was just at the right angle to reflect of of the lakes surface and I waited for this bird to pass through that spot. I really like the bokeh balls in the background created by the reflection of the highlights.
