Bom Jesus do Monte (Basilica) in Braga, Northern Portugal
The current neoclassical church was built in 1784 according to a design by Carlos Amarante in the Italian style. It has the floor plan of a cruciform church with an octagonal crossing tower.
This important pilgrimage site has been a national monument since 1970 and was on Portugal's Tentative List of World Heritage Sites since 2017. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in July 2019.
