Screaming Low Pass along Runway

"Vampy" took part in the 2019 Abbotsford Airshow. Here she is doing a high-speed low-pass maneuver down the runway. Having a relatively slow shutter speed and panning real fast I was able to get the aircraft in focus and significant motion blur in the background.

Development of the Vampire began during the Second World War in 1943 as an aircraft suitable for combat that harnessed the new innovation of jet propulsion.

N593RH, affectionately known as "Vampy," is a 1959 De Havilland DH-115 Vampire T.55 operating as an experimental exhibition aircraft. It is owned by Vampire Aviation LLC, based in Wilmington, Delaware, and is a popular participant in American airshows. This specific airframe (serial number 986) originally served with the Swiss Air Force under the military registration U-1226.
