My first real exposure to photography came in the early 1990’s when I purchased an Olympus IS-1 film camera. In 2001 I moved to digital photography with a Canon G1 and a 340MB Microdrive (for those of us that remember what that was). Over the years I have upgraded many times, first entering the DSLR space with a Canon EOS 10D, and now mirrorless.
I am a passionate and competent amateur photographer, I do not do photography professionally and have no desire to. It all started as a creative hobby to offset a demanding and stressful career in engineering and management. Now retired, photography is a favourite pursuit to pass the time for both my wife and I.
