A few months ago, I visited the bewitching beech forests of Belaustegi in Euskadi and captured this scene that felt like it was pulled straight from Tolkien's world. The iconic twisted tree stands as a guardian over the river, which gracefully descends towards us, leaping over rocks and winding through the landscape.
The way the light pierced through the canopy, illuminating the gnarled branches and flowing water, reminded me of Tolkien's ancient lands of Middle-earth.
