Next week, I’ll be opening my exhibition at Concello de Valdoviño, and what better way to celebrate than with a photograph of one of the most iconic spots on its coast: a Virxe do Porto.
Taking advantage of the last bursts of storm Herminia, we headed to this rugged coastline to capture it under the fury of the sea. The rock on which the chapel stands was relentlessly battered by towering waves, each one more powerful than the last, covering the shoreline in a thick white foam—almost like moss draping the rocks.
In the distance, Punta Frouxeira Lighthouse had just switched on, a beacon against the storm. Though, given the brutal conditions, I doubt any ships dared to venture out that night.
An incredible location under truly epic conditions. The Atlantic’s raw power at its finest.
