I captured this stunning scene one morning just after sunrise from my room high up in the Resorts World Hotel in New York’s Catskill Mountains. The view was breathtaking, looking out over the treetops. I used my Mavic 2 Pro drone, but not in the air, I set it up right inside my room. When I pulled back the curtains and saw the incredible landscape, I scrambled to grab my camera gear. All I had handy was a 100-400mm lens for my Canon R5, which was way too big for this shot. Then I remembered my drone in another bag. Instead of heading downstairs to launch it outside, which would’ve taken time and might’ve been tricky due to a nearby helicopter landing pad and Monticello Airport’s airspace, I decided to work from inside. The room had huge floor-to-ceiling windows with a small sill, just wide enough to prop the drone against the glass. To avoid reflections, I turned off all the room’s lights and disabled the drone’s lights in its settings. Shot with the Mavic 2 Pro’s Hasselblad camera at f/2.8, 1/60 sec, ISO 100, and a 10mm focal length.

Do love the scenery and shot, but I don't get the out of the box here.
