On a visit to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden during peak cherry blossom season this year, I found myself drawn not to the blossoms but to a quiet moment by the pond. Two ferns stood together in a way that reminded me of a couple at a wedding ceremony. What struck me most was how the reflections and highlights in the water seemed to echo their shapes, almost forming a heart around them.

I captured the image with a Sony a7RV and an FE 85mm F1.4 GM II. To enhance the ethereal atmosphere, I added a mist filter, which softened the highlights and gave the scene a dreamy glow. The shot was made entirely with natural light — the challenge was waiting for the right angle where the reflections aligned with the ferns, creating the subtle heart-like shape that made the image feel complete.
