I took this photo outdoors using a crepe myrtle tree for the background. Initially, I positioned the flower on my garden fence and used my Nikkor 300mm f/4 PF ED lens and got a nice creamy bokeh that looked just okay but didn't do much to make my photo interesting. I decided to change the lens and used my Nikkor 50mm 1.8 D. With the bright light filtering through the leaves, I positioned myself to shoot upwards to fill the background. I think the depth and motion created by the circular bokeh added to the composition. 1/100sec @ f/1.8 ISO 100 Nikon D7500.
