To grow as a photographer you have to get out there and challenge yourself. Consider joining in on the weeklyFstop as a great way to try new things and enhance your photography skills.
To live is to grow, if not by size, then in wisdom and experience. Being a dad with two boys, when I think of growing I think of them. The way time flies by as they become more and more independent reminds me to cherish every moment. I may get accused of always having my camera out, but having photos of them each step along the way is priceless.
This week's participants all brought their own interpretation of grow and once again delivered a quality top 10 list. I hope you enjoy.
10. Konrad Sarnowski
9. Peter Witama
8. Wesley Chang
7. Raymond Craig
5. Alan Godfrey
4. Rand Photography
3. Cynthia Hernadi Setiawan
2. Mike Schultz
1. Mike Smith
I love the power stance this chick is sporting. Also, the dramatic lighting and simplicity of the scene won me over. Great work, Smith.
What Is This Week's Theme and How Do I Enter?
One thing the Fstoppers community stands out on is portrait photography. The readers post some of the coolest and most cutting-edge photos of people I've ever seen. From the models, to the scenes, to the lighting, to the amazing costumes, the quality and imagination are second to none.
So consider yourselves challenged. Show us your best portrait work.
To enter, simply use the hashtag #weeklyFstopPortrait on any public Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or Flickr post between now and our next weeklyFstop article. Please keep it to one entry per week to keep it fair and less cluttered.
Here are the previous week's results for anyone who may have missed them:
- Leading Lines
- Long Exposure
Remember, there is no guarantee posting a photo will result in it being featured. If you happened to submit but fell short, please don't be discouraged. Keep shooting and try to gain techniques or ideas from the photos that are selected. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas, feel free to contribute in the comments. I'm always open to future theme suggestions. I hope you are all enjoying the theme as much as I am. Keep up the good work.
