Sunset, Bahia Kino

In 2017 we started off down the Pan American highway in a Jeep, pulling a small off-road camping trailer. By the time we reached Guadalajara, we had come to the conclusion that towing a trailer--one that required primarily living outside--would not be a sustainable way to circle the globe. So, we made the decision to return to the US, refit ourselves with a truck and camper, and strike out again.

On the way back north we stopped along Sonora's Pacific coast at Bahia Kino, a small fishing village which has (so far) escaped the eyes of the mass-tourism developers who have turned southern Baja, Quintana Roo, and Nayarit into hedonistic paradises for spring break partiers and well-heeled travelers. In Bahia Kino we found a simple town on a beautiful bay, with exactly one, fairly run-down RV park. The people are friendly, the fish are fresh from the sea, and the sunsets are glorious. And who doesn't love a glorious sunset once in a while?!
