I like to explore the hidden corners of the cities we visit, looking for what I call the "unheralded beauty" of the urban core. I've collected a number of these images over the years, and feature some of them on my photography website in a gallery I call "Last Rites".
In Granada, Nicaragua, a city with a rich colonial history and a newly refurbished historic center, I was delighted to discover this blue door and gate which had so far escaped urban renewal. Of course I just had to add it to my collection!
