Red Rocks revelation

In 1935, Red Rock Lakes Wildlife Refuge was created in Montana's Centennial valley to protect the endangered trumpeter swan. At that time, the refuge was home to nearly half the world's known population of only 72 individual birds. Today, thanks to years of conservation efforts, more than 40,000 trumpeter swans again grace the sky with their wings across much of North America, with the refuge home to nearly 500 of these magnificent birds.

We camped out in the refuge during a stormy night, and in the morning as we were leaving, we passed this field of multi-hued grasses. With the nice contrasts between colors, I think this image might process well into black and white. What do you think?

By the way, the colored version you see here was selected by Charlie Mudd, an up and coming San Diego musician, as the cover image for his new EP, "With Company." Ironically, the lead single on the album is titled "Colors of You." How cool is that?
