Verdant Falls Fern

A few weeks ago, I visited this well-known spot in the province of Lugo, Fervenza de Santo Estevo do Ermo. It was my first visit as a photographer, although I had been here many years ago as just a nature lover.

The winter storms had knocked down some trees, one of which landed right in front of the waterfall. This limited my composition options, but spring offered a gift: a huge, vibrant fern that made for a fantastic foreground!

Controlling the light was challenging because the sun was quite high, and the clouds didn’t always cover it. Despite these obstacles, I took advantage of the moment. With persistence and patience, I managed to capture something I'm truly satisfied with.
