Flowing Stillness

This morning, I took the chance to revisit this stunning waterfall I hadn’t been to in quite some time. The water flow was strong, which made it challenging to achieve the textures I wanted in the flowing water. After experimenting with different shutter speeds, I found a moment that seemed to work perfectly and began to set up my composition.

I had to position the camera just 10 cm above the water, right in the middle of the river, to ensure the twisted branch didn’t obstruct the main cascade while allowing the underwater rocks to create silky patterns in the foreground.

It was a gray, overcast morning, with mist dominating the skies and blocking out the sunlight—a perfect mood for photographing waterfalls until the rain decided to join the scene!
