We will be giving a way a Canon 7D or D300s (whichever the winner wants) in a contest in the near future. What are we waiting for? We want at least 1000 twitter followers (we are at about 750 right now) before we start our contest. So if you have twitter you can help us hurry this along at www.twitter.com/fstoppers.
Fstoppers.com is dedicated to showing you the behind the scenes of photo and video shoots but we are also here to simply inspire you as well. This video of Joshua Allen's street art has nothing to do with photography but it still inspires me to get off my ass and go create!
It's not often that we see photoshoots taking place a night. After you watch the Bui Brothers knock this shoot out, head over to there blog to view the stills from the shoot here. Justine Ezarik Photos – iJustine Photoshoot behind the scenes video from The Bui Brothers on Vimeo.
Here is a very simple video of a very complicated photoshoot. I have trouble posing 1 subject but Douglas has to pose 7 guys, a truck, and a hovering helicopter. After turning day into night with Photoshop this is one successful shoot.
A few days ago I posted Patrick's video of his friends jumping on a trampoline in the desert... I just ran across his skim boarding video on vimeo and I am once again smiling while I watch his work. You want to know how he did it? Simple; he put a GoPro HD Hero on a monopod and threw it around in the ocean. Love it!
I am currently up here in NYC and Patrick Hall is coming up on Monday. Our goal was to come to the city to create our next Fstoppers video and the photographer that we had planned to feature doesn't have any big shoots lined up for next week. If you happen to to be, or know of a great photographer in NYC that will be doing a shoot on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week please give me, Lee Morris, an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or a phone call (843.697.4282). We would love to feature you/them free of charge. At this point we are looking for a product/car photographer but since it is so last minute any cool photoshoot will do. If you happen to live in NYC and simply want to party with us feel free to call or email too :)
In this video Patrick Lawler explains how he shot his fantastic short using the 7D, a trampoline, and a little special effects. Many of our readers have video equipped DSLRs. We should all be out creating unique art just like Patrick. View the full post to see the finished product and get inspired.
Here's a really cool video of Oscar Van De Beek shooting a new car. What better way to show of the new car than with fire and explosions. You can check out Oscar's amazing portfolio here.
A couple of weeks ago I posted a killer video of Simon Gerzina behind the scenes shooting fashion. Well he is at it again and we love his video and finished product just as much as the first one. After you watch him work check out his other photography here. If you live in NYC don't miss out on his April 10-11 workshop. Fashion Shoot Time Lapse from Simon Gerzina on Vimeo.
I just recieved a tip from one of our readers to check out Aaron's blog. I am so glad I did because not only is his photography fantastic; his behind the scenes videos are also interesting and informative. Check out his last shoot in the woods and then head on over to his website here. Behind the Scenes - Baxter from Aaron Nace on Vimeo.
Many of you have already seen this but if you haven't you should check it out. Zacuto (the company that makes add-ons for DSLR video) has put together the most extensive video quality test I have ever seen. You can check out this weeks video at http://www.zacuto.com/shootout . Below is just a trailer since the full video is not able to be embedded any longer
This is the is what Fstoppers is all about. National Geographic photographer Joel Sartore has created a book that will feature portraits of endangered species. To go along with his book he created a quick video promo. This video is the behind the scenes of that promo. View the full post to see the extraordinary finished product.
