Ryan and Josh Connolly of Film Riot always brings us the coolest do-it-yourself filmmaking and special effects tutorials. In this "rewind" episode (read: old) they show us how to create the killer effect of throwing someone clear across the room. What's doubly cool is how easily this can be done with just a still camera and software that most of us already have (Photoshop and After Effects). That's not to say there isn't a lot of work involved but that this technique (though highly effective) is a simple one. There is a lot of information here and Ryan has a gift for talking really fast (even when his mouth is full... you'll see) so you will no doubt have to watch this several time with your finger on the pause button. But it's well worth the learn. For you creative and patient types this method could open up a whole new world of possibilities for you.

I guess, you don't need AE any more to pull this off today. PS CC is enough for this short sequence.
This looks awesome actually. Remember the punch scene in the first matrix. It looks way worse than this.
