This milk dress was easily the most difficult image I have ever taken both on the day and in the edit. This was actually my second try with the concept and if I ever do it again I already know lots I'd do different.

We had a huge sheet of foil with a blown up rim to keep any of the (real) milk from the floor. My incredible model managed to keep this pose in her bikini for about 20 Minutes being bombarded with loads of (luckily warm) milk from a photographer friend and another model while I was pressing the shutter and gave lots of directions. In the end I had a photoshop file with 16 combined images and all in all about 86 layers. Mind you this was in summer of 2020 so no possibility of generative fill…

Although I'm not 100% satisfied with the outcome it is still an image I hold very dear to my heart mostly because of the huge fun we had while taking it.

Wow. These are a huge amount of work. I have done a lot of large set studio work and people don't appreciate the labor and artistry that goes into making one like this. Photoshop makes it easier, but still not a piece of cake.

Thank you for your comment!
Indeed, the work for large setups is often overlooked. Photoshop is part of it, that also needs to be considered from the beginning in order to work.
