Riverboat Fashion Shoot
This shoot presented a unique set of challenges, as it was taken on a small rowboat while floating down a river. Stability was the biggest obstacle—standing up in a moving boat while composing the shot required careful balance and precision. Additionally, I had a light stand positioned on the boat, which added another layer of difficulty in maintaining stability and controlling the lighting.
The natural light was shifting due to reflections from the water, requiring constant adjustments to exposure and white balance. The combination of the model’s vibrant mustard-colored outfit, the striking red and blue boat, and the warm tones of the Pomeranian created a visually compelling contrast. However, framing was particularly tricky, as I had to avoid excessive distractions from the river while keeping the subject isolated.
Despite the unpredictable motion of the boat and the challenges of positioning both the model and lighting equipment, the final result captured a stylish yet relaxed moment, blending fashion with an adventurous setting. The controlled lighting helped separate the subject from the background, adding depth to the composition while maintaining a natural feel.
