Nanu Oya Falls is a beautiful waterfall near Nuwara Eliya, but what makes this location especially interesting for me is the railway bridge that crosses above the waterfall.
I wanted to capture the waterfall together with the bridge, showing how the natural landscape and the railway infrastructure exist together in the same frame.
Getting this composition was not as easy as it might look. To find the right viewpoint, I had to step into the waterfall pool and set up my tripod in the water. The water was extremely cold, but getting into the stream gave me the perspective I was looking for.
Sometimes a photograph requires more than simply finding a beautiful location. It requires getting into the scene, finding the right position, and waiting for everything to come together.
Nanu Oya Falls is one of those photographs where the experience of capturing the image is part of the story.
