Sunrise with Mist

The central highlands of Sri Lanka have a special relationship with mist. Here, sunrise often arrives quietly through layers of mist, slowly revealing the landscape as the morning light grows stronger.

This photograph was captured during one of those beautiful mornings. Through the mist, a small house and surrounding trees appeared softly in the landscape, creating a peaceful and almost dreamlike atmosphere.

I was drawn to the way the mist partially concealed the scene while the first light of the day gradually revealed its shapes and layers.

For me, the beauty of this landscape is not in seeing everything clearly. Sometimes, what the mist hides is just as important as what it reveals.
