Bomburu Ella is one of my favorite waterfalls in Sri Lanka, and this photograph was captured from very close to the waterfall.
Finding the right composition was not easy. I spent several hours exploring the area, looking for a foreground that could add depth and connect the viewer with the waterfall. Eventually, I found this beautiful green foreground, which became the key element I was looking for.
What surprised me most was how many possibilities the location offered. After spending time exploring and changing my perspective, I found more than 10 strong compositions around the waterfall.
For me, this is what makes waterfall photography exciting. A location may appear simple at first, but when you slow down, explore every angle, and search for the right foreground, the landscape can reveal far more possibilities than you initially imagined.
This frame is one of those discoveries.
