Tales of the Gnarled Woods

Another shot from the incredible forests of Opakua, where I spent an unforgettable morning immersed in autumn’s magic!

This time, I had the chance to use a TTArtisan 11mm Fisheye lens, which allowed me to experiment with compositions that made the already twisted and intricate trees look even more dramatic. The lens emphasized their towering height and distorted shapes, creating the perfect visual representation of these enchanting woods.

What struck me most were the trees growing atop moss-covered boulders, surrounded by fallen leaves in vibrant autumn hues. Some of them seemed alive—like Tolkien's Ents, leaning forward as if watching over me with their gnarled limbs. Every corner of this forest felt like a scene straight out of a fantasy novel, and I couldn’t help but marvel at its beauty.
